South Park Community Church

Built in 1874, this lacy board and baten church is a well-preserved example of the Carpenter Gothic style. One of many churches in the West established by Sheldon Jackson, this Fairplay landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Hours of Operation
Open during daylight hours throughout summer. The exterior yard and garden may be visited anytime, weather permitting. Group events may be arranged with the local Presbytery.
South Park Community Church is located at 6th and Hathaway Streets in Fairplay. From Denver, take US Highway 285 south to Fairplay. Turn right on Highway 9 and proceed four blocks west to 6th Street. The church is one block north of Highway 9 on 6th Street. As an alternative, pick up a brochure at South Park City Museum (100 4th Street) to explore all 12 sites that comprise the Fairplay historic walking tour.

The church exterior may be visited anytime of year but the flower garden is only maintained during peak summer months.
Entrance Fees
No fee for self-guided tours. Special events such as weddings require a small use fee.
